Chesapeake Antiques is a muti-dealer antique center. The shop celebrated its 40th year anniversary in February. The Chesapeake Marketplace and Auction House is a unique one-stop-shop for antique lovers. Of the 100 shops in the marketplace, 80 of them deal in antiques and collectibles. The Marketplace has an interesting story. It was formerly a lumberyard, but that business folded when a recession hit in 1992. The owners converted the 7 building on 5 acres of land into a little village of quaint shops, rental spaces for antique dealers, and a lively auction house. So the Chesapeake Marketplace and Auction House is a bit of an antique in its own right.

Merchandise arrives at the Marketplace and Auction House on a daily basis, so there will always be something new to see. Probably their most modern feature is their online auctions, which are held once a week. Other than the auctions, the marketplace also features the following events:

Grandmother’s Store in Dowell Maryland

Get a good look at an antique before you even enter the store, the building itself. Grandmother’s Store is located in a former general store and post office building that was constructed in 1904.
